5 Things Our Homeowners Love about Living at Twin Creeks Village
Twin Creeks residents share what they love about lake living at Twin Creeks Village
Twin Creeks Village is more than a housing development; it’s a closely-knit community.
We love everything about life at the lake, and so many of our residents do, too. In today’s blog, we compiled some of the feedback we hear most often. We also caught up with a few residents and asked them to share what they love most about living at Twin Creeks and what advice they would share with new and prospective residents. Read on for what they had to say.
1. You can make new friends
If you asked any resident you pass while riding around the community on a golf cart to tell you what they love most about the community, 9 out of ten would say that the people make the community home.
We think that’s because living at the lake is all about having fun and relaxing at one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and communities like ours draw like-minded people together. That makes it easy to make friends and find people to share time with. Our residents agree.
“We love the new friendships we've made since moving here in February of 2020. My husband and I are very social, so this is a perfect place for us. We adore the town of Winchester and surrounding Decherd and Estill Springs. The residents of Franklin County are friendly and helpful, just as you would expect in a small-town environment,” said homeowner Shelia Lunsford.
2. You feel like you’re on vacation all year long
Living where you love to spend your free time helps you create a life you don’t want to escape. Between the community activities, marina and restaurant events, and just having access to the walking trails and lake, there’s always something fun and festive to do.
And, as homeowner Mary Jo Nash remarked, “you feel like you’re on vacation all year long because you get to meet other residents from all over the US, not just from the south. We all get along, love to spend time with one another doing things like playing games, walking the neighborhood, or spending a day on the lake.”
But some of the most enjoyable moments of any vacation are those spent relaxing quietly, and there are plenty of opportunities to soak in solitude. There are serene, tucked away trails, scenic views with benches, and 10 miles of Tims Ford state park and 16 miles of lake to help you pass the time peacefully.
3. You have the chance to build your dream home
Our Twin Creeks Village team works with property owners every day, and we strive to make your custom home build easy and enjoyable. Many factors can impact a building project, and our team works quickly to resolve any unforeseen challenges.
“We worked with Nate when Twin Creeks was building our townhome. He was wonderful and helped us pick everything. This wasn’t the first home we built, and we knew we wanted to upgrade our new home to have quartz throughout. Unfortunately, we had two different material providers fall through, which could have been a disaster.
But Nate met us in Manchester and spent the time helping us until we found something we loved. Also, Suzanne, our project manager Kai, and Amanda from the office - really everyone we’ve worked with has been ‘Johnny-on-the-spot’ whenever we’ve needed anything. You can tell they’re like a family.“ said Kathy Nies, homeowner.
4. You’ll find the perfect place to retire
Retirement is one of the most common reasons people choose to call Twin Creeks Village home, and Tims Ford Lake offers a gorgeous backdrop for this stage of life. Shelia recalls, “I've always dreamed of retiring on the lake...somewhere. A friend told my husband about the first lot sale event at Twin Creeks in 2016, when we purchased our first lot. At that time, this area was not much more than dirt and a dream. We trusted and bought into the promises of what was to come. As a realtor, I can tell you that one of the best decisions we've made is to invest in this community.”
In addition to the beautiful scenery and welcoming neighbors, Kathy and her husband Kim cited that having easy access to the lake and their boat without having to drive down to another marina and slip was just one of the signs that helped them decide to make the move. She also adds, “plus, who wouldn’t want to sit on your boat and listen to live music or enjoy an afternoon at [Drafts and Watercrafts].”
5. There’s never a dull moment
Nearly everyone who’s visited Twin Creeks Village, Marina, and Resort recently has noticed all the growth and exciting changes. What was once a small neighborhood with a few houses and townhomes has now become a thriving resort with lifestyle amenities such as neighborhood firepits, a community pool and clubhouse, a one-of-a-kind event venue for weddings, parties and lakefront concerts, a floating waterfront restaurant, and a lakeside RV resort. Residents and families everywhere can meet and spend time boating, fishing, hiking, and exploring the local area.
When asked what advice they would give prospective buyers thinking about moving here, Shelia said, “If you are thinking about a move to Twin Creeks, don't hesitate. Life is short, and opportunities like this do not last forever.”
If the last year has taught us anything, it’s that your home and environment can make a big difference in your overall happiness and wellbeing. Kathy put it best, saying, “when we couldn’t get together with others, just riding around the community on our golf carts, or having lunch under the magnolia tree, was so peaceful. We couldn’t have imagined living anywhere else,” says Kathy. Well said, Kathy. We couldn’t agree more.
