7 Ways to Enjoy Lake Season at Drafts & Watercrafts

Mark your calendar for April 5th and get ready for good vibrations and great libations all season long.

7 Ways to Enjoy Lake Season at Drafts & Watercrafts

Spring is finally here, which means Drafts and Watercrafts is getting ready to open for the season!

Our Twin Creeks team is feverishly polishing everything to a shine, testing new menu items, and dreaming up fantastic drinks and specials. Drafts and Watercrafts, our open-air, floating restaurant on Tims Ford Lake, officially reopens on Monday, April 5th.

We’re so excited that we put together this list of seven activities we can’t wait to share with you this season.

1 - Watch the sunset while sipping your favorite cocktails (or trying some new ones).

Nothing says “life is good” quite like sipping a cold beverage while enjoying a magnificent sunset. As the days get longer, take time to relax and enjoy warm weather with friends and family.

Sample one of nearly 40 beer and wine options, or go for a custom craft cocktail from our full-service bar. The Tims Ford Sunrise, Winchester Mule, and Fun on Dry Creek Beach are some of our local favorites.

2 - Stay for lunch. Or dinner.

You deserve a night (or day) off from cooking. Relax and unwind while listening to great live music. Take in incredible views in the sun or under our shaded canopy. Voted “best restaurant on Tims Ford Lake,” there are many options for even the most discerning of palettes.

Up for some laid-back pub fare? You’ll love our new blackened grouper sandwich, a craft burger, or one of our brand new Drafts and Watercrafts Mac & Cheese Bowls, like the Down South Bowl. It features homemade macaroni and cheese, topped with jalapeño pimento cheese, fresh pulled pork, and drizzled with our signature barbecue sauce. Swoon.

You also can’t go wrong with a signature dish, like an ahi tuna salad or one of our hand-cut steaks topped with grilled shrimp and accompanied by a loaded baked potato casserole side.

When the kids finish playing at the Jungle Boat, bring them over for a specialty kids’ meal they’ll love (and that won’t cost a fortune!).

3 - Enjoy local bands.

Support your favorite local bands every weekend! Sit and listen or cut loose as we bring out a stage and make room for a dance floor. Various bands perform country, rock, pop - there’s always a terrific mix of original material as well as the favorites you know and love. Who knows, you might even see someone you hear on the radio.

Our Drafts and Watercrafts events team is always booking new bands, too, so if you’re in a band or know one we should feature, be sure to let us know at our Drafts & Watercrafts Facebook

4 - Compete in Lake Idol.

Take your singing out of the shower and join us for Lake Idol. We’ll be announcing this season’s nine-week singing competition at the lake soon. Contestants perform two songs every Thursday for eight weeks, plus a finale show. A panel of three judges will be present to critique performers on voice, crowd participation, and stage presence.

Enter to win prizes and be crowned the next Lake Idol, or just come to enjoy the show and cheer on your favorite performers. Last year’s Lake Idol Round Two winner, Jay Arr Ottow, won $1,000 and later went on to open for Sara Evans at our open-air lakefront concert at Twin Creeks in the fall.

5 - Meet friends for nightly special events.

There’s always something fun cooking for families and friends to enjoy. Bring a group to come for trivia every Monday. Or show your support for a local charity at one of our fundraising events. Come to relax and eat or participate in any of our special events throughout the season.

6 - Make a day out of it.

Come for the day. Cruise up in your boat, get fuel, and park for free right at the Twin Creeks Marina and Drafts and Watercrafts. Don’t have a boat? Rent one for a full or half-day, along with kayaks, tubes, or paddleboards, and spend the day enjoying Tennessee’s favorite lake.

7 - Attend an open-air lakefront concert.

It wouldn’t be lake season without mentioning our open-air lakefront summer concert series, which kicks off in May at Tennessee National, our new sister community near Knoxville.  Last year’s series hosted some pretty amazing artists, and we’ll be announcing our lineup soon.

Twin Creeks’ lakefront concerts take place at Anchors Away Stage, just a short walk from Draft and Watercrafts. Purchase a ticket for one of three seating areas. Bring a blanket or a chair to sit on our lawn,  choose premier stage seating, or relax around your own private fire pit. Our lake concerts are fun, safe, socially-distanced events attendees love.  And our Draft and Watercrafts team will be mixing up your favorite drinks and serving up delicious bites available for purchase. Don’t miss out.

No matter what you love doing this lake season, you’ll find good times and great friends at Drafts and Watercrafts, Twin Creeks’ floating restaurant on the lake. Mark your calendars for April 5th and call us at 931-201-5516 with questions. See you soon!
