9 Warm Weather Activities to Enjoy at Twin Creeks

We don’t know about you, but all this cold weather has us longing for lake season! If you’re anything like us, you’re counting down the days until you can trade in the fuzzy slippers for flip flops and making plans to head down to the lake. Spring will be here before you know it, so let’s take a few minutes bundled up - and dreaming - up all the things we’ll do once the weather turns nice. 

To help you do that, we put together this list of nine warm-weather activities to do at Twin Creeks that you won’t be able to resist. 

Spend time on (and in) the water. 

Tennessee is known for its impressive lakes, and Tims Ford never disappoints. Nearly 17 miles of deep navigable waters offer visitors perfect spots to fish, play, or just cruise. Bring your boat or jet skis, and you can quickly put in at the boat ramp at Twin Creeks Marina. Relax with family or a group of friends, tying up with other boats for the day, or drive around and make memories wakeboarding, waterskiing, tubing, swimming, and more.

Twin Creeks Marina makes the day hassle-free with dockside fuel and a retail store where you can stock up on ice, snacks, beverages, sunscreen, exclusive clothes, and other lake essentials.

Reserve a boat for the day.

Don’t have a boat or want to accommodate more friends? We offer a fleet of rental pontoon boats with varying engine power. If you have small children to pull on tubes or skis or prefer a leisurely cruise around the lake, you might like one of our 90 HP pontoon boats. If your crew likes going fast and turning quickly, upgrade to a 115 HP option.  

Interested in finding a cove and playing for a while? You might love a double-decker option, which comes fully-equipped with a slide, of course. Pontoon boats can accommodate up to 10 passengers. Weekday rentals are available in four and eight-hour sessions, and weekend rentals are available in eight or ten-hour sessions.

Active enthusiasts can reserve one of our kayaks or stand-up paddleboards and spend the day exploring Tims Ford Lake, earning every one of those fruity cocktails. 

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind lakefront dining experience. 

Very few restaurants sit on the water, but that’s what you’ll find at Drafts & Watercrafts when it reopens this April. Voted Best Restaurant at Tims Ford Lake, Drafts & Watercrafts features a full-service lunch and dinner menu, kids’ menu, and extensive beer and cocktail offerings. 

Savor the signature dry-rubbed, hickory-smoked wings, one of our specialty pizzas, or splurge on Cajun Salmon or Seafood Pasta. Fresh salad selections include Flatiron Steak, Ahi Tuna, and Southwest Chicken. Feeling extra-adventurous? Don’t miss the local-favorite pizza: Bacon and Pickles - trust us. 

Jump on the Jungle Boat at Twin Creeks.

What’s better than jumping on trampolines and exploring a playground? How about a floating water park with two trampolines, a high jump, a slide, a diving board, and a rope swing? Grab a two-hour ticket for the Jungle Boat and have a blast. Reserve the Jungle Boat for a birthday party, youth event, family reunion, or a small group gathering and be a hero for years to come.

Afterward, keep the fun going by relaxing and sipping a signature cocktail or treating yourself to one of the specialty cheesecakes next door at Drafts & Watercrafts.  

Take a sunset cruise.

Tims Ford Lake offers some of the best sunsets in the state, and we can’t think of a better way to experience them than on a private sunset cruise on one of our pontoon boats. Schedule your cruise, pick up some appetizers, beverages, or dinner for two (or 10!), and cruise at your leisure to take it all in.

During the season, Drafts & Watercrafts features various unique entertainment offerings five to seven nights a week. You’ll never be bored with us. 

Attend an open-air concert featuring award-winning artists.

If you’ve been missing live music and attending concerts, you won’t have to wait much longer. We have just confirmed the return of our summer concert series, produced by ACM, CMA nominated, award-winning recording artists Anita Cochran and Straybranch Productions. 

These terrific events feature food and beverage trucks, various general and VIP ticket options, and some amazingly talented performers! Previous artists have included Sara Evans, Anita Cochran, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Jamie O’Neill, among others. 

We can hardly wait to share this year’s impressive lineup with you soon.

The 2021 concert series kicks off in May at our sister property Tennessee National near Knoxville. Stay in the loop as we announce dates and artists for our Twin Creeks events, and plan to join us for exciting, safe, outdoor concerts.  

Relax by the fire. 

Nothing says relaxing nights like sitting around a fire pit. Share stories, cocktails, s’mores, and make new friends around one of our fire pits. All spring and summer long, our fire pits are ready with chairs and kindling. Not feeling social? No problem. Each of our brand new waterside cottages provides a private fire pit for your use during your stay.

There’s nothing we love more than waking up by the lake, and you will, too. No matter what type of traveler you are, you’ll find accommodations that suit your style and needs. 

Pack up the RV and drive down to Middle Tennessee’s brand new waterfront Twin Creeks RV Resort. Every site is just a few steps away from the lakeshore and is equipped with electricity and sewer hookups, private picnic tables, and access to a brand new bathhouse and restroom facility. These are just a few of the many reasons to RV at Twin Creeks. 

If affordable lake houses and villas are more your taste, Twin Creeks offers many unique and memorable homes for rent. Each home is fully-outfitted, stylishly decorated, and meticulously maintained. You can rest easy knowing our properties are prepared for each stay using the highest cleanliness and sanitization standards. All offer easy access to the Twin Creeks Marina, golf cart rental options, and the Twin Creeks Village pool. Many also come with charcoal grills for your use during your stay.

How do waterside cottages sound? We thought so. Our Twin Creeks building team is hard at work finishing the new waterside cottages, which will be available to rent this spring. Every uniquely themed property comes fully furnished, with a screened-in porch, private deck, and personal fire pit. Did we mention they’re are all waterfront? That means you can pull your boat or kayaks right up to the shore beside your rental. 

Relax and fish or watch the sunset, drink in hand, without having to leave your property. But when you do want to get out, you’re just a few minutes’ walk from both the marina and the Twin Creeks hiking trails.
